District 9 Archives Report June 22nd, 2008
Hi, my name is Regina H.
I am an alcoholic and your District 9’s Archives Chair. My home group is “Women’s Honesty” in Hollywood and my sobriety date is January 29th, 1994. We want to apologize for not being able to attend the Cheekee Group’s annual celebration held on May 28th. On May 25th we brought your archive display to the Bottom Line Groups annual picnic. On May 31 we brought your archives display to the Unity Breakfast. What a wonderful time we had. On June 8th, we brought your archives to the Founders Day Picnic. On June 18th we brought your archives to the New Leaf Groups Anniversary celebration. What a wonderful time, great food and fellowship at both of these events. There are five groups celebrating an anniversary for the month of July, the “Coral Springs Group”, the “Learning To Live Group”, the ”Solutions Group’, the“Lighthouse Point Trinity Group” and the University Big Book Study Group. If I missed anyone, or if there are more groups celebrating anniversaries in the month of July, please let us know, so we can update our records. Last night, June 21st, we had your archives display at the annual Intergroup Appreciation Dinner. We had a wonderful time. Thank you to Christina, the Dinner Chair, for inviting us. We will have our archives display at the Area 15 quarterly being held in Boca, on July 11th thru the 13th. A sign up sheet is on the front table. The Old Timers meeting we held in May was a huge success. We had 339 attendees. We have given the treasurer a check for $77.58. We returned an envelope containing $25.00 back to the Recovery First Treatment Center, as we are self supporting, declining outside contributions. We do apologize for this error. We are getting ready for the 52nd annual Florida State Convention being held right here in Broward County. We are still looking for volunteers. Please sign up for an hour or two, if you are registered for the convention. We have GSO sending their archive display, Ray from Dr. Bob’s House bringing his display, Stepping Stones is sending us their display, as well as Bill Wilson’s House is sending their display. We are so excited. We want to thank Marty L. for donating archive material for our archive display. We want to than Howard for donating International Convention archival material and to Christine for donating her bag of Ft. Lauderdale beach sand. .Please remember, we have 14 videos that we would love to show at your groups and a great assortment of cassette tapes and CD’s in our lending library. As always, I want to thank the archive committee members and all the volunteers that so graciously help out. Thank you for letting me and the archive committee members be of service. God bless you! In Love and Service, Regina H. Dist 9’s Archives Chair |
