I’m an alcoholic, member of the Tamarac Group, and my name is Al. As you have honored me to serve as your District 9 Chairperson one of my responsibilities is to work with the other Organizations on the Unity Events in order to be focused on our Primary Purpose. In that regard, the Unity XII Breakfast Planning Meeting was held at the Intergroup Office on Thursday, April 20, 2017. All Organizations were in attendance with great participation. Although we are still working on a menu, the Organization assignments have been for the most part been finalized and tickets will be available shortly for sale. The Unity XII Breakfast will be held at 9:00 am on June 24th at the Plantation United Methodist Church. The Church is a NO SMOKING FACILITY so of course there is NO SMOKING on the property. This is a limited venue where it is anticipated that the will be no tickets sold at the door. The best way to get a ticket is to sign up for service. Only 270 tickets will be available for sale at $8 each. Each entity will be given 90 tickets to sell for the Event. All Volunteers are required to purchase a ticket. District 9 is looking for approximately 25 Volunteers but more are encouraged to perform service for the following Committees; Cleanup-Dining Room (2), Cleanup-Kitchen (2), Coffee & Coffee Cleanup (3), Cooking (2) please check with Victor T as he will be working with Bob H of Intergroup on the Cooking and preparations, Food Line Directors (1), Food Servers (3), Set Up / Breakdown (2), Juice/Water (3), Trash Disposal (1), Ready Squad (1), Parking (2), Smoking Patrol (1), Clean Outside (1), Registration/Badges (3). Extra Volunteers will be placed if needed on the day of the Event to help meet our Staffing needs.
