I am an alcoholic, I’m a member of the Lunch Bunch Group, my sobriety date is February 26th, 2009, and my name is Sherri.

Food and drinks are allowed in the workshop room 105 and here in the Fellowship Hall as long as everyone is cleaning up after themselves. All these chairs and tables need to be put back in storage when we are done so if you are able to stay after and lend a hand, we would appreciate the help.

If you are new here today, and haven’t already, please make sure you have one of today’s agendas to help you follow along through the meeting.

Who knows what today is??? Today is the first day of the General Service Conference. A shout out to all who attended April’s Assembly 2 weeks ago and helped Tom to be so well prepared. We do not have a date yet for the delegate’s report, I will let you know as soon as we do. July Assembly flyers are on the table with the hotel information if you want to book a room so you don’t have to drive so early Sunday morning and also you can purchase your banquet tickets via Venmo, all the instructions are on the flyer. For those GSR’s that are not funded by their groups to be able to stay at the hotel, listen up when we get to the Room & Ride Coordinator further down under Service Activities, I will give more details.

We have many exciting things being planned for this year. There are lots of handouts over on the table as well as on our website district9aa.org. There is an updated district calendar, as well as Archives Old Timer’s flyers, 65th Florida State Convention and committee flyers and Founder’s Day Picnic flyers. Please help spread the word not only to your home groups but to any groups you attend that may not be announcing our events. Take photos of the flyers and calendar so you have them with you wherever you go. Each and every single one of us has a responsibility to share all the opportunities there are for fellowship in District 9.

We will be conducting elections later for General Service Representatives and Alternate District Committee Members if there are any that have reached the end of their term. We also have the Intergroup Liaison, and a Room & Ride Coordinator chair open. A summary of the process along with descriptions and requirements is also on the table. As the first quarter of this year is over, I will be presenting the Intergroup Liaison and Room & Ride chair positions as gap year terms, this means you would just serve the remaining part of this year should you stand and be elected today. Then, should you wish to stand for a full two year term beginning in 2023 you may do so in October when we present the rest of the elections. If you are willing, meet the requirements, and have the time to serve one of these committees, please think about standing.

Last but certainly not least, the 65th Florida State Convention, at the beautiful Harbor Beach Marriott on Ft Lauderdale Beach will be from August 3rd – 7th 2022. They need us to register EARLY to ensure we all have the best convention ever!!!! The on-site hotel room block is full but there are two nearby overflow hotels which will have shuttle service to the Harbor Beach Marriott that still have openings.
