I am an alcoholic, I’m a member of the Lunch Bunch Group, my sobriety date is February 26th, 2009, and my name is Sherri.
How about that Archives Old Timer’s meeting last night?!?!?! Approximately 200 people, it was amazing! John and his committee did such a great job, and the speakers were awesome!!!
We have a confirmed date of July 17th for our delegate Tom to come and give us a summary of what happened at the Conference. So, our July business meeting will be abbreviated, meaning we will not hear committee reports but they will appear in full in the minutes. We will still have the DCM and GSR Workshops at the same times in the same place.
July Assembly flyers are on the table with the hotel information if you want to book a room, or you can drive down early Sunday morning, but you must be in the business meeting by 9:00am latest to be counted for voting purposes. You can also purchase a Saturday night banquet ticket via Venmo, all the instructions are on the flyer. For any GSR here or Alternate GSR that will be attending the Assembly in place of your GSR and are not funded by your group to be able to stay at the hotel, listen up when we get to the Room & Ride Coordinators report for more details.
Service tip, take photos of event flyers and our updated calendar so you have them with you wherever you go so you can help out by announcing our events at groups you attend that don’t have representation.
We will be conducting elections later for General Service Representatives and Alternate District Committee Members if there are any that are rotating down the service triangle as well as election for an Intergroup Liaison.
After elections, Leslie will be presenting a motion on behalf of the Current practice committee, it will be read only and then discussed and voted on next month after everyone has had a chance to bring it back to their groups. It will be available on our website sometime after today, give the website committee some time to get it up. You will find it under the Documents tab, then click the District Business Documents tab you will see a section titled proposed motions.
Last but certainly not least, the 65th Florida State Convention, at the beautiful Harbor Beach Marriott on Ft Lauderdale Beach is literally just around the corner, 80 days away!!! August 3rd – 7th 2022. Flyers for different committees, volunteer forms and registration forms are on the back table, early registration is the key to a successful convention! If you have not registered, PLEASE do so ASAP!
